What Are Open Sessions?
Open Sessions provide artists of all skill levels the opportunity to practice figure drawing from live models in a relaxed, non-instructed environment. Whether you're a beginner looking to develop your skills or an experienced artist wanting to keep your hand sharp, these sessions offer the perfect space to work at your own pace.

Session Types
Choose the session format that best suits your practice needs. Life drawing sessions run Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and portrait painting is Friday mornings.
Life Drawing - Long Pose
Non-instructed open session with live models. Easels, tables, and models provided. Bring your own materials.
Time: Wednesday 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Duration: Drop-in
Pose Length: 1 pose per session with 10-minute breaks
Members: $10
Non-Members: $25
Life Drawing - Multiple Poses
Open life drawing session with multiple poses. Great for gesture drawing and quick studies.
Time: Select evenings, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Duration: Drop-in
Pose Length: 1, 3, 5, and 10-minute poses

Portrait Painting
This open session is for portrait painting. A model will be provided for you to paint from life in a relaxed, non-instructed environment.
Time: Fridays, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Duration: 3 hours
Format: Model provided for painting

Creative Live Model Session
Join our creative open studio sessions where live models pose in new themed costumes each month, offering artists fresh inspiration and dynamic setups to draw and paint from. These sessions are open to artists of all levels and provide a welcoming space to practice and connect with the creative community.
Time: Monthly on Sundays, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM (starting April 12)
Duration: 3 hours
Format: Themed costume model sessions

Wednesday Morning Figure Drawing/Painting
STARTING Sep 23rd, 10:30 - 13:30 A 3 hours live model open session to study and practice the human figure. All mediums and levels are welcome. NO PHOTOS
Time: Wednesday - Starting Sept 23 10:30 - 13:30
Duration: 12 weeks

What to Bring
Open Sessions are non-instructed, so bring your preferred drawing materials. The Academy provides easels, tables, and the model—you bring your creativity!
- Your own drawing materials (charcoal, pencils, pastels, etc.)
- Sketchbook or drawing pad
- Erasers and blending tools
- Portable easel (optional - some available on site)
